There is a wealth of information worldwide about reflexology  -ranging from books to blogs !   There are many research studies which are increasing the validity of these therapies in addition to anecdotal evidence and practitioner experience. What is Reflexology ?

Reflexology Association of America Definition 2016:

'Reflexology is a protocol of manual techniques such as thumb and finger walking, hook and

back up and rotating -on- a- point, applied to specific reflex areas predominantly on the feet or hands. These techniques stimulate the complex neural pathways linking body systems ,supporting the body's efforts to function optimally.

The effectiveness of reflexology is recognized worldwide by various national health institutions and the public at large as a distinct complementary practice within the holistic health field' RAA (2016)

While forms of reflexology have been used since ancient times from the days of the pharaohs of Egypt , modern medical researchers developed current reflexology by examining the nervous system responses to pressure applied to different parts of the body when trying to relieve pain naturally .One of the main theories is Dr William Fitzgerald's zone theory which proposes that the foot reflects all the areas of the body within 10 zones and that pressure on these zones of the feet will affect all the structures in the corresponding body zone.
